Foothill Beautification Median Project
Hopefully, you have heard by now that our community is honored to receive $1 million from LA County Supervisor Michael Antonovich to fund a new median project along Foothill Blvd, from Briggs Ave to Pennsylvania Ave. The project has now reached a “quiet” period while DPW puts pencil to paper and creates the detailed plans (approved by the community, CVTC and CV Chamber). The project will be out to bid in fall of 2017. At the request of CV Chamber the project will begin in Spring 2018. As new renderings become available the images will be available on our website and updates will be in the CV Weekly.
Tuesday, October 25th Lisa Woung, the medians committee and representatives from Theodore Payne, Rosemont Preserve and interested community members met to discuss specific plant choices for the medians. The group came to a consensus and provided a list of a dozen or so plants (trees, bushes, flowering and ground covering) to LADPW. LADPW reminded the representatives that there are strict guidelines for plants and that they will do everything possible to ensure the plants are drought tolerant and keeping with the feel of La Crescenta and the La Crescenta Library. Renderings are expected in 2-3 months.
Thursday, October 20th, 2016 Lisa Woung presented the newest median specifications to the community. Due to traffic studies some of the medians had to be deleted and others shortened. The final specifications are below.
September 2016 LADPW updated medians and specifications based on the traffic study results.
