Understanding the La Crescenta-Montrose Community Standards District (CSD)blue_prints.jpg
Review entire document
Review amendment to the CSD effecting the
Foothill Corridor
Only Commercial and Multi Family units are effected. NOT single family residential homes.

We are looking for your comments with regard to residential properties. Sound off by using the What do you think link on the right.

The purpose of the CSD was to establish and ensure new multi-family buildings are compatible with the character of existing neighborhoods and to improve the Foothill Boulevard commercial corridor. Approved and implemented as of October 2009.

Should we or Shouldn't we have Residential Community Standards?residential_construction.jpg
What are Community Standards: Certain types of roof lines are not allowed, percentage of lot must be landscaped, specific design styles are required, these are just a few that now apply to all new building applications for Foothill Blvd. and Multi Family Units in La Crescenta/Montrose unincorporated.

Even with the new Standards unless the developer is requesting a variance (A building code variance is a permit issued by the municipality that allows some sort of a exception of the building code.) or conditional use permit the Community and or Town Council are not notified in advance about any project.

So do we want tighter restrictions on what someone can build on their residential property?

Take our survey.

Many feel the tunnel will effect the Crescetna Valley

A Community trail has been proposed. The initial part of the trail will run along the flood control channel starting at Orange Ave., just East of La Crescenta Ave. through Two Strike Park up Rosemont to Pineglen Rd. How does the community feel about the trail?
